First sketches
This is the planning phase for a colored pencil. the whole objective of the project is to show how well we know hot to use the medium colored pencil. I decided to use the concept of a mask. they have always intrigued me as to what was be hind it. This is just one of the ten thumbnail sketches, it is my first sketch. It shows how the finished piece changed as the design flaws were worked out.
The Girl Behind The mask
This drawing was inspired by an episode of doctor who, Liz 10. at the beginning i wondered who was behind the aged mask. I shocked me to whom was behind it, the queen. Rally anyone can be behind a mask, the part that makes it intriguing is the aura around that person. How they present themselves. I chose to put the girl in a purple formal because it looks so innocent, yet her piercing blue eyes make it sinister in a way. That is one of my favorite concepts to work with, innocence.
Braking my heart
This is a random drawing that I completed in class in my sketch notebook. The previous night I had been watching the corpse bride written and directed by Tim Burton. I have always liked his crude sketches of his developing characters. The quick lines draw the eye, and the color does not always stay inside the lines.
These four art cards were part of a set to demonstrate our understanding of showing form to a a flat surface. We also had to use a creative medium. For mine I used water color paper with pen and eyeshadow. I had a theme centered around "A Place From Long Ago".
Autumn's fate
These were for a smaller project that was to make a graphic novel. I chose to show the characteristics of each charter just by giving hints in the drawings. I chose to use a darker gothic style mixed with the bubble goth style. It kind of mixes the victorian style with modern and a child like sweetness or innocence.
